Course Overview
A 17-day PERMACULTURE DESIGN CERTIFICATE (PDC) Plus with over 72 hours curriculum,full of practical knowledge, hands-on experiences and design exercises in a place of great natural beauty. The PDC program integrates with optional daily yoga sessions ,mindfulness practices, Deep Ecology/ Nature Connection exercises, outdoor learning and community living. The course takes place from the 2th-19th of October 2015 in a wonderful rural stone house and stunning natural surroundings of La Garrotxa, near Girona and Barcelona. Participants will be immersed in an inspiring learning environment while living close to nature for the full duration of the course. 
This unique course will consist of a broad range of topics applicable to life anywhere on the planet, at the same time catering to specific needs of the participating students.

This course is a comprehensive introduction to the many aspects of integrating permaculture abroad in a complex and changing world. From the ethical foundations to the practical steps for working internationally, all the diverse and subtle aspects of itinerant work are covered. While it’s relatively easy to travel, it’s not easy to practice permaculture successfully abroad. Problems are often created instead of solutions. 
Today, many people want to help others live on our planet in a better way. All over the globe, people are realizing that the industrial model has serious flaws. They’re looking for sustainable and regenerative answers that are culturally and environmentally appropriate. Those of us who have the money, time and desire can help the global community, but good intentions are only a start. This course provides you with the landscape and tools to transition from good intentions to significantly improving people’s lives worldwide.

Rico Zook has over 40 years’ experience working with complex land-based systems in diverse climatic environments. He’s been a permaculture designer, a land consultant and educator working with private individuals, farmers, villagers and local organizations in northern New Mexico, India, Cambodia, and the mideast. He’s also helped indigenous cultures preserve traditional knowledge and technologies while adapting to our rapidly globalizing world.
Beyond Organic Design is hosting this event, which will be held in the second-floor classroom. Light breakfast and lunch provided. Dinner and lodging not included.

Mineral Springs Dabaipani is an internationally certified organic area and fair-trade labeled collective of 456 small farmers since 2002. The farmers have come under the Mineral Spring Sanjukta Vikas Sanstha since 1996. The collective has been marketing small farmers organic tea in the international market, which is grown as a polyculture crop. 

The participants will have home stay accommodations facilities with the members of Mineral Spring Sanjukta Vikas Sanstha.

The course fees, inclusive of training material, food and lodge: 
International Candidates Rs. 27,000
Indian Nationals residing outside Darjeeling but working in India Rs. 19,000

The course fee does not include travel to the training venue. There will be an additional Rs. 150 to 200 per person charge for the shared jeep from Darjeeling to the venue.

Laos Intro to Permaculture Course

Introductory course, 11th to 17th February 2015: Join us and become part of the growing permaculture movement at Pakxan Farm. We will design and implement new permaculture systems, including broadscale water harvesting structures, Greywater system(s), hugelkultur bed, and a passive solar water heater. We will also learn about and do ongoing farm projects, such as compost building, planting perennials (hedge, living fence, guilding), bed (soil) preparation, harvesting and propagating micro-organisms. For this course we will be a full and fun experience with a relaxed and enjoyable pace of learning and working. This course will provide you with both the foundations to begin walking the path, as well as functional questions with the fundamental knowledge to begin moving along your own path to a regenerative life.
